Mini Madness

It has been awhile, and my links need some
updating. For now, just click the title
of this post to go to Oliva Cigars.

Here's the scoop: I am in love with the
Oliva Serie O Habano minis. It has all the
creamy malty goodness one can expect from
an exquisitely crafted Nicaraguan puro, and
it goes fantastically with a neat Bulleit
Bourbon.

The roll is among the best I've ever
experienced... and I'm not talking strictly
about small cigars. This is one that you
choose to smoke 3 of in a row rather than
take in one large cigar. I'm blown away.
Really.

The smoke is elegant and unconfined, the
flavor is both delicate and assertive, and
the size is ideal.

As much as I'm loathe to say it, this little
cigar trumps even the Bahia Tico.

Best mini (outside of Cuba... or so I'm told...)
EVER.

To tie up loose ends

The El Primero Mundo Connecticut has a ton of
flavor. Nicaraguan and Peruvian fillers stand out
prominently. Of all the E.P.M. line, this may be
the best, because the mellowness of the Connecticut
Shade wrapper serves as a piquant counterpoint to
these robust tobaccos.

The Oliva Serie V (V or V. -- Vee or Five, guys?)
is the only smoke I can put up there with the
La Flor Dominicana Ligero Cabinet. The figurado
retails (taxes and all) for $8.80 in the
Village of Larry. It is a neat trick to compete
with Litto, and almost no one does it, so a thousand
compliments to Oliva again. I hope this doesn't
go to their heads. The sweet price helps to make
Oliva stand out.

And now for something
completely different

For our premium smokers, it doesn't get much better
than the Padilla 8 & 11 Robusto. Just flat out the
best cigar out there not touched by the magical hands
of Avelino Lara. I smoked another 8 & 11 Robusto tonight
with a Bulleit, and I was in heaven.

Happy smoking.

In case you didn't know, SEC Football rules.
